The CARICOM region, heavily reliant on agriculture and tourism, faces significant challenges due to climate change. These challenges threaten food security and economic stability of the region and highlight the need for climate change adaptation.

In response, CARICOM has launched the “25 by 2025” initiative, the regions Strategy to reduce the region’s food import bill by 25% by 2025. Among other key areas of development, the strategy focuses on climate change adaptation and mitigation in the areas of technology, capacity building, research and development, insurance, finance, private and public sector investment. These efforts aim to build a more sustainable and resilient agricultural sector in the face of climate change.
